Career Services

Career Services The Career Services office at Northwest helps their students choose a major, supports them to find an internship, search for jobs and provides career guidance and critiques for job interviews, resumes, cover letters, and networking. Jobs after Graduation Northwest strives to prepare students for successful careers and we believe it is important to continuously evaluate the post-graduation status of our graduates.

Career Services surveys the previous academic year graduates and organizes the data to provide a view of “first destination” employment and continuing education statistics. The data reported is six months after graduation (industry standard).

Textbooks and Laptop

Textbooks and Laptop Included Studying just got a little easier. Students at Northwest save $7,200 over four years in textbook and laptop fees with the school's rental program. (Graduate students pay for textbooks.)

Rental of your primary textbooks is included in your tuition and fees. Full-time undergraduate (at least 12 credit hours) and graduate students (at least 9 credit hours) will also receive a fully loaded laptop to use while studying at Northwest. Northwest students save time and money by not having to find, buy and resell textbooks, and on-campus technical support is provided to students.

The Electronic Campus

Since 1987, Northwest has provided laptops to all students. Free campus-wide WiFi, free IT help, up-to-date hardware and all the software needed for classes assure you will have a positive classroom experience--and save you money!

The Electronic Campus and Computing Museum Northwest Missouri State University has been directly and indirectly involved in computing technology since 1945 when Northwest alumnus Jean Jennings Bartik became one of the first computer programmers.

Jean was one of only six women involved in programming the ENIAC, the world's first Electronic Numerical Integrator and Computer. She also went on to program the UNIVAC I, the world's first commercial computer.
